Yes I know many people really couldn’t care less about football, but for me, football and Christmas are inherently linked. There is a kind of magic in wrapping up warm, scarf around your neck, going to the match on Boxing Day or between Christmas and New Year, having a few drinks before coming home for the evening to relax.

A lot of people enjoy the fact that football is on TV most days over Christmas too, and this year it’s looking pretty good. Sky Sports and BT Sport have just announced the live TV games around that period:

Sky Sports
Sat 17: Crystal Palace v Chelsea (12.30pm)
Sun 18: Bournemouth v Southampton (1.30pm)
Sun 18: Man City v Arsenal (4pm)
Mon 19: Everton v Liverpool (8pm)
Mon 26: Watford v Crystal Palace (12.30pm)
Mon 26: Hull v Man City (5.15pm)
Tue 27: Liverpool v Stoke (5.15pm)
Wed 28: Southampton v Tottenham (7.45pm)
Fri 30: Hull v Everton (8pm)

BT Sport
Sat 17: West Brom v Manchester United (5:30pm)
Sat 31: Liverpool v Manchester City (5:30pm)

I’m sure Liverpool v Manchester City will be great fun on New Years Eve at 5:30pm. Good luck to the police that evening.
