December 15th: Scrooged

91gZci+e0EL._SL1500_Scrooged opens with an amazing action packed scene of Santa and the Elves defending the North Pole from a violent, assault rifle attack.

And that totally sets the tone for this modern (ish, it’s the 80s) version of Christmas Carol, which is every inch a top drawer Bill Murray movie.

Parts of it are a little dated now, as per any 80s movie, and this is set in the media industry which is totally something that has changed enormously.

In fact, this movie is ripe for a reboot, in a modern age. They’d have something like Christmas Love Island with guns or something these days!

The film literally breathes cynicism and is really outstandingly funny.

Anyway, this movie is genuinely a classic, recommended to all although probably unsuitable for the littlest kids owing to some of the slightly scary ghosts and a bit of bad language.
